Grande Finale of Digital Business course

Now this all confusing new digital thing is about to end. I have learned so many new things during this fall. So many new tools and a scratch of digiworld in action. My feelings are pretty happy now. I am very glad that this course was compulsory because otherwise I wouldn't ever taken part of this. Thanks to all the guest speakers, my team mates and of course Anna, Ilkka and Bui. Not to forget our partner company represantive!

During this last week I took part in Rainmaker's extra lecture session in Haaga-Helia. There were one same speaker who we had in our session last week. He also told about the same subject there. Sell person have to love his/her job. If don't customers will feel and notice it. This of course effects on the customer's desicion will he/she buy from you or not and more on that will he/she buy from you more than once.

Another speech was about emotions in selling moment. All of us observe our surroundings in every 5 seconds with our senses. That was new thimg to me. But it makes sense. For example when I enter a shop, no matter is it on online or normal one, first I check the surroundings and then I make the desicion will I do business with this store. The subject and saying was quite same as in session what we had a few weeks ago by Camilla Tuominen. Feelings and emotions effects all your doing, both in private as in worklife. One of the speakers also told a tool called DISC. It tells you what kind of person you are and what kind of person you are to deal with. I unfortunately haven't have time yet to do the test but according to him I am a i person. And I think this true!

After these lectures I have thought about my own feelings regarding to my life. Now I realize that emotions effect all my doings and all the people who I am dealing with every day.

I also participated in Leijona-Aketemia interview. I went to Rainmaker's office and the interviewed me to the Academy. There will be a lot useful information and training regarding to selling. I would be so happy if they accept me there! It will take two semester this "training" but I think I can manage to do it and another school jobs side by side. Thumbs up that they will take me there!!

One thing what I just noticed. Next time when I am writing a blog, I will write it by someone else provider than Blogger. This mobile version sucks, I am not able to put pictures inside the text and there is no possibility add picture texts(!!!). And this has many times crashed when writing a text. Not good.

Digitalization at sales work

We had a great guest speaker in second last week of this course. There were one man telling us about sales work and how it have changed in a couple decades and how it should change in the future. I have done some years selling as my job and I wanted to quit it because I didn´t love my job anymore. The biggest reason was that I felt the customers don´t respect me anymore and there is no reason me to be there because they allready have found out all the information about the products beforehand.

That was one of the biggest changes which the speaker told about. The product information. Nowdays people have the power and chance to get all needed product information before entering a store. Internet gives possibilities to this. Another things are product availibility and price. Shop keepers have lost the power of these too. Customers can buy nearly everything online when ever and where they want, and that is the reason why shop keepers have to be alert nowdays. Still many shop keeper forget most important thing in their business. The sellers. They spend a lot of money on nice outstandings and miljeu but they don't invest in sellers. I think this is the most common reason why people buy in online. Sellers don't be in that level where they should be.

Ilkka also told us similarities between Aristothele's theory and Kotler's marketing theory. Both based on same kind of thinking. People makes their dicisions on reason, feeling or trust. Like Aristothele said: logos, pathos and ethos. Kotler have based his marketing theory on same way. Marketers should think their marketing strategy on this. It was intetesting to notice the similarities of these theories. And I think this is the right way to do marketing.

To the partner company





Our partner company presentative asked us to do two bigger task for them. We need to find out what is the most valuable and the best content management tool and marketing automation solution for the company. Both of these tools were unknown to me. And because of this, it was at first a bit confusing to me to do these tasks. But now it think I know the basics of both of these.

Our suggestion of CMS tools
In CMS tool task we were given the features what the system need to have. It took me a while to understand some of the features and their function. Even it sounds quite easy just to find the price of the product but when you don´t get the information what the price consist of, it comes a bit complicated. For example are the domain costs included and so on. If the task wasn´t the nicest or easiest one, I think we learned the meaning of it. With these tools you can your business more organized and effective. It is more useful when you can the mostly needed features from a some place. Like the tool has SEO function and gives you a lot of help planning your marketing, or supports all the social media channels and of course it has to be multilinguistic. First we returned one version to the partner company representative but he wasn´t satisfied with it so we had to make some changes to it. I liked the way how he gave us feedback and told us a few good tips how to get all out of our contribution. He told us to think like him, try get inside of his head and figure out that way what could be the best solution. This advice helped a lot our work. It was easier to decide what he might appreciate and what he wants from the content management system tool.

Our suggestion of the marketinf automation solution
The same advice helped us in another task too. He asked us to find the best marketing automation solution systemtool for his company. This was another tool which I had never heard before. He gave us eight companies which all offer this solution. He didn´t give any features what there should be, we had to think about those ourselves. Especially in this it helped a lot to think like he. First we had to find out what is marketing automation solution. It helps your marketing, there is a lot of softwares available in markets who offer different kind of features to get all out of your marketing. We decided to focus on social media channels and inbound marketing. Like I said there is many many companies offering this kind of software and luckily we had only these eight which to choose from. We came up to only one suggestion solution because it was only which includes all wanted features in a reasonable price. I think I got the basics from this marketing systemtool but still I fell we only scratched the surface of digital marketing solutions. There are so many options where to choose from and you have to go into more if you want to understand and use those perfectly.
